The Proprietor Iwo City Polytechnic, Late Elder Idowu Amos, was born to the family of late Pa. Joel Olatunji and Madam Mary Olanike Amori Idowu, more than eighty years ago at Olomi's Compound in Iwo.
He started his education career at Methodist Primary school, Asa, in Ola-Oluwa local Government, under the tutelage of Rev. Longley and later proceeded to Methodist Primary school Oke Adan, Iwo in 1957 to look glly b. .complete his Pry. Certificate that was not available at Asa then.
He went to Baptist Secondary Modern school Ponyan, Iwo, to obtain Modern three certificate in 1960. He later did his grade three teacher's certificate, at LATTICO in 1963.
In his quest for education, he went to Molete Ibadan to obtainTeacher's grade two certificate in 1970. As a hard working and self made man, he struggled to get admission to College of Education after sitting for GCE A level at home, without attending a regular Secondary School to read science subjects, yet he performed well and proceeded to read Science subjects, precisely CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY which was rear in those day for Modern Leaving Certificate owners. He did not rest on his oars, despite a family man, went to university of Ibadan and bagged his Bachelor of Science degree in Education 1978.
Daddy Idowu, his a God fearing and hard working man .He had zero tolerance for cheating and very brilliant. He presented Students for HSC examination on Biology for many years at Baptist High school and recorded tremendous success of which made him a popular teacher in the entire Iwo land.
He served in various capacity, as an ordinary class teacher, HOD, Vice principal, and a School principal. He was the President for ANCOPSS Ola Oluwa local Government for many years.
